  1. You literally did nothing to review the actual product as far as power draw, range, lag, audio clarity or latency tests as far as using controllers, midi devices, etc. Anyone is capable of seeing up a desk and a Webcam, but somehow you made the top one of the most searched topics on the internet so you must be doing something right

    1. Yes it is designed to make a desktop PC or laptop compatible with bluetooth headphones, speakers, and other bluetooth devices.

  2. When you plug it in does it show up in your drive folder.. same folder as your C drive.. so you just add your devices in there? so you dont even need the cd software? thanks.

    1. Yea that’s right. You don’t need to install any CD software. You just have to plug it in and your computer should automatically download the latest drivers for it. And that’s basically it, your computer will be ready to pair.

    2. Thanks for helping.. mine should be here tommoz.. thanks.. I got a new win 10 laptop and cant believe it doesnt have bluetooth installed…on a Pavillion i5.

    3. Oh wow, you would think all laptops today would come with bluetooth. My desktop didn’t have bluetooth on it either but you’re right, at the very least all new laptops today should have bluetooth on them.

    1. I haven’t personally tested it with a Dual shock 4 controller. According to their product page it is compatible with the new Xbox One S controller with built in bluetooth but there is no mention of it being compatible with the PS4 controller. I have read that some people had trouble connecting their Dual shock controller to this adapter. But others said they were able to connect it. So I would do some more research before you get it just to be sure.

  3. Does it allow to connect a… smartphone Bluetooth headset? — (e.g. Jabra for one ear, not headphones)
So… Can I both receive AND send audio, have a conversation on Skype etc.? Thanks!

    1. I personally have only used it with bluetooth headphones as I don’t have a bluetooth headset. But as long as the bluetooth headset uses standard bluetooth technology you should be fine. If you do plan to use a bluetooth dongle though I would recommend inserting it into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port to maximize its bluetooth range.

  4. Do you know if these USB Bluetooth 4.0 adapters will work on those MacBook Pros (mid 2015) with the buggy internal Bluetooth modules? Wondering if this adapter will bypass the crummy internal module…

    1. I’m sorry but this adapter is not compatible with Mac OS. It’s only compatible with Windows and Linux computers.

    2. Posting back – ASUS Bluetooth USB for Mac works like a gem! I’ve got this plugged into a 4-port USB 3.0 HUB with power adapter into my MacBook Pro 15 at work. The nifty thing is I can power off and on the usb hub where the ASUS connects in order to get my external keyboard reconnected to my laptop. The key is to also run that command line (don’t have the source line handy…) where it tells the MacBook to look for external bluetooth sources first before going to that crummy internal one. Feeling ??⭐️

  5. Can this work on my car stereo? I don’t have aux or Bluetooth, i have a usb cable and i was wondering if this will work as a Bluetooth receiver for my car stereo…

    1. Yeah, xd. A bluetooth radio is more complex than it seems, you have to know which drivers work with which operating systems, not only with Linux, OSX, even with different versions of Windows, which types of audio codecs go better, always referred to PCM, because the pairing is difficult in certain circumstances. It seems a little nonsense, but we are talking about radio.

    1. According to the manufacturer you can connect up to 7 devices at once but I don’t recommend going over 3 for the best performance.

    1. I would say it depends on how many bluetooth devices you currently have connected to the dongle. To reduce latency I would also recommend removing any obstructions between the dongle and your controller as well as plugging the dongle into a USB 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port. I found that this helped reduce lag.

    1. Yes I use my bluetooth adapter on a Cyberpowerpc. If your bluetooth adapter is plugged into a USB 3.0 port I would try instead plugging it into a USB 2.0 port. Hopefully this helps.

  6. I bought that same dongle and it does not work. it did at first but there was this terrible skip/pause that was unbearable. I updated, restarted, I did everything to get it to work and it doesn’t work. Now it won’t connect. It doesn’t say why, just won’t connect. The dongle in the video is not plug and play. You have to install stuff hence the disk. Its awful and doesn’t work.

  7. What’s the difference between 4.0 and 4.1? Also, does the bluetooth version of the adapter have to correspond with the version for the wireless headset? Thank you

    1. 4.1 should have slightly better connection and less battery drain on connected devices. And no the version of the adapter does not have to correspond with the version of the wireless headset but the bluetooth connection between two devices will only be as strong as the lower bluetooth version between the two.
